9.00 am – 10.00 am – Image Formation and Basic Physics of Ultrasound by Prof. Janaka Wansapura via video conferencing from Texas, USA
10.00 am – 10.15 am – Q&A Session
10.15 am – 10.45 am – Anatomy of an Ultrasound Machine by Miss. Navoda Athapaththu Application Specialist, Samsung Ultrasound
10.45 am – 11.15 am – Hands-on Session
11.15 am – 11.45am – Tea Break
11.45 am – 12.15 pm – Basic concepts of lung ultrasound by Prof. Aruna Munasinghe
12.15 pm – 1.00 pm – Hands-on session
1.00 pm – 1.30 pm- Introduction to blue protocol by Prof. Aruna Munasinghe
1.30 pm – 2.30 pm – Lunch
2.30 pm – 3.00 pm – Introduction to E- Fast by Dr. Iresh Perera. Consultant, Emergency physician, Base Hospital Wathupitiwala

9.00 am – 10. 00 am- Summary of the previous day & basic cardiac windows by Prof. Aruna Munasinghe
10.00 am – 10.30 am – Introduction to rush protocol by Prof. Aruna Munasinghe
10.30 am – 11.00 am – Tea break
11.00 am – 12.00 pm – Hands on Ulrasound
12.00 pm – 1.00 pm – Vascular access and fracture detection and other applications in trauma by Prof. Aruna Munasinghe & Dr. Isuru Abewardana, Consultant, Emergency physician District General Hospital, Horana
1.00 pm – 1.30 pm – Hands-on session
1.30 pm – 2.30 pm – Lunch
2.30 pm – 3.00 pm – Application of POCUS in Neurocritical Care (No live demo section of the TCD)
3.00 pm – 3.30 pm – Hands-on session
3.30 pm – 4.00 pm – Post-test & Q&A
4.00 pm – Certificate award & closing remarks
The course fee has been waived by the Ministry of Health.
Certificates of participation will be awarded by the NIMS and the ETNR.
All participants be present at the NIHS Kaluthara by 8.30 a.m.
