- Introduction to the equipment and instrumentation used in sonography
2. Anatomy and Physiology
- Review of relevant anatomy and physiology of the human body
- Understanding the anatomical structures visualized in sonography
3. Physics and Instrumentation
- Principles of ultrasound physics
- Ultrasound wave propagation, reflection, and absorption
- Instrumentation and controls of the ultrasound machine
- Image optimization and artifact recognition
4. Patient Care and Safety
- Patient positioning and preparation
- Infection control and aseptic techniques
- Patient safety considerations and risk management
- Ethical and Legal aspects of sonography
5. Clinical Practicum and Hands-on Training
- Practical training on ultrasound equipment and techniques
- Clinical practicum to gain real-world experience
- Hands-on scanning experience under the supervision
6. Professional Development and Continuing Education and Accreditation
- Professional Standards and Ethics in Sonography
- Continuing education and professional growth opportunities
- Preparation for certification and licensing examinations
Course Content
1. Introduction to lung ultrasound
2. E-fast examinations
3. BLUE protocol and RUSH protocol
4. Vascular access and fracture detection
Each section will be accompanied by live demonstrations.
Day 2
Resume of the previous day followed by hands-on in an interactive manner.
- The maximum 8 candidates per batch.
- Venue-Regional training center for acute care-District General Hospital-Gampaha.
- Course Fee
- Consultant level-Rs.15,000 including meals.
- Senior Registrars and MOs Rs.12,000 including meals.
- Evaluated by pre-test and post-test
- Some of the lectures will be delivered from the USA via video conferencing by experts in the field.
- At the end of the course, a world-recognized certificate will be awarded.
