Academy of Integrated Sonography in Emergency and Critical Care
It is our pride to mention that. Ours is the first Sri Lankan Organization of Point of care Sonography. Point of care Sonography has already become an Essential component in any standards ED, ICU and even in the Field. Point of care Sonography was first introduced to Sri Lanka by Prof.Anura Munasinghe, Having been trained directly by Prof Daniel Lischtentian considered as the father of lung ultrasound, working at The Ambroise Pare Hospital, University of Paris, France. He had further training in advanced eco cardiography under Prof Antoine Villa baron.at the same institution Since Then Several Other Organizations including Win Focus, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, etc. Contributed in developing this field further. Furthermore we have a research Arm including experts from Fields such as Advanced Physics and Artificial intelligence. Up to now, we have conducted many workshops throughout the country and various international conferences. We are in the process of developing an accreditation mythology for or our trainees.

Dr. Anil Jasinghe
Director General of Health Services
Dr. Anil Jasinghe joined medical administration as the Medical Superintendent of the Provincial Hospital, Badulla in Sri Lanka in 1996. Then he became the Deputy Director of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka in charge of the Accident and Orthopaedic Service and served there at the height of the terrorism. In 2009 he became the Director, of Colombo South Teaching Hospital. At present, he holds the post of Deputy Director General, at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka. Dr. Jasinghe was instrumental in establishing the Trauma Secretariat under the Ministry of Health and became its Founder Head. The formation of the Trauma Secretariat paved the way for a systematic approach to management of trauma. He was one of the steering committee members which pioneered “The Colombo Emergency and Rescue Service” also known as “110”. In the field of injury and trauma, Dr Anil Jasinghe had a special liking towards the burning issue of Road Traffic Injuries where he has contributed nationally and internationally. He was trained in the field of disaster management in prestigious centers in the US and Israel.Community Medicine and MD Medical Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine in Sri Lanka. In 2011 he obtained the degree Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Postgraduate Institute of Management of Sri Jayewardenepura University.He was the President of the College of the Medical Administrators of Sri Lanka which is the professional body for the medical administrators of the state and private sectors. In 2011 he was conferred with the Fellowship (FCMA) by the College of Medical Administrators. Visiting Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Visiting Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sri Jayawardenepura, Visiting Lecturer, Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, and Visiting Lecturer, the Army Command Staff College in Sri Lanka. Visiting Lecturer, National Disaster Centre and serving as an Examiner in Diploma Course in Disaster Management and Mitigation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.

Dr. Aruna Munasinghe is the senior consultant physician in charge of the Sri Lanka – Victoria Emergency and Trauma Care Centre, Teaching Hospital Karapitiya. He graduated from the Colombo Medical School and completed his post doctorial Training at the Townsville Hospital affiliated to the James Cook University, North Queensland Australia. He is the first and only Sri Lankan having the prestigious fellowship of the American College of critical care Medicine. In addition to many achievements he holds a Diploma in Mechanical Ventilation from the University of Paris. He pioneered many critical care and Emergency Medicine concepts to Sri Lanka including point of care Sonography in Emergency and Critical Care. He is also considered as the first person who introduced lung ultrasound and Mechanical ventilation formal training to Sri Lanka. He is the founder president of the Critical Care Forum as well as the current secretary general of the association of SAARC critical care societies. He is also involved in several clinical trials and a winner of the presidential award for research. He was recently appointed as a member of the National Science Foundation in Sri Lanka by the Ministry of Science Technology and Atomic Energy
